Geen Suzuki Swift Sport op IAA

FRANKFURT - Suzuki-topman Ono heeft op het aller-, allerlaatste moment besloten de Swift Sport niet op de autotentoonstelling in Frankfurt te presenteren. Naar verluidt is de Japanner niet echt tevreden over het resultaat voor de Europese markt. De auto is al wel in de Japanse media vrijgegeven. Het sportieve topmodel gaat op de thuismarkt half oktober al in de verkoop.


Ono zou de Sport voor de Europese markt nog een tikkeltje wilder willen hebben, zo wordt gefluisterd. Daarbij wordt volgens een insider ook naar het vermogen van de 1.6-motor gekeken. Tijdens de presentatie van de Swift aan de pers lieten de techneuten al weten dat de toen nog als GTI aangeduide Sport meer dan 140 pk zou krijgen. Of dat ook zo wordt, weten we pas volgend jaar, als Suzuki de Sport op de Europese markt brengt.
