Hi,
i am Luka from Slovenia, i am building Swift MK4 GTi with MK3 bodyparts (the front end will stay MK4).
The car i completly rebuilt, engine is stock with worked head, ...
I will install engine this week so fingers crossed everything will be ok.
First i have bought my 2nd GTi back for parts. When i sold it the car was in top shape, got it back in really bad shape.
Summer setup:
Winter setup:
When i bought it back:
Then i started a search for good chassis but no luck. I than got an idea to buy swift mk4 (hungary) and convert it to mk3. the chassis was made in 2000. i found a silver one near me and bought it.
Then i started my work, somewhere in july and i am still not finished
First i striped the old one.
GTi parts:
After i got the parts that i needed i started working on the new one, i also bought another engine.
Naslednjič motor ven
I have test fitted rear lamps from MK3 and they fit great
Engine out
GTi engine in to try the wiring. Everything was ok. The engine was taken out again to rebuild it completly.
Because i like peace sometimes i have decieded to isolate the car. I have used 2 materials, first bitumen and than a special foam. It took me about 3 days to do this ... (i have isolated the whole car except roof).
After this i could reassamble the rear part of interior.
The wiring is completly from GTi because in this model is different, the wiring is the same only for doors. Thats why the dashboard was also removed.
I have cleaned the surface rust on the car.
Apex springs -35 mm
Rear end
Front end
In the meantime i have decieded to leave MK4 front light and the rest, to make it a little different. I didnt have a clue what would it looked like in the end.
Doors isolated
Repainted rear bumper fited
Carpenter did my door panels
MK4 mirrors repainted
Front bumper
The old chassis went away
The suspension was completly rebuilded, using factory shock absorbers shorter ( - 4cm) and harder (20%) and apex springs, everything repaired or replaced with new, sandblasted, repainted, ....
